The festival’s free participatory program for kids ages 6–18. Bring your voice or your acoustic instrument (violin, cello, bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and percussion) to participate in three sessions during the festival. Friday, 3 pm–5 pm, Saturday and Sunday mornings 9 am–11 am. The festival coaches will bring you together to practice. Music will be available on the same page the beginning of May so you can get a head start. No music is used onstage, so participants learn and listen to the materials. There will be three numbers with the large group. All this culminates in a main-stage performance Sunday afternoon.
In 2011, one parent commented: “Thank you so much for organizing the GGB. My girls loved participating. It’s such a special opportunity, to feel part of something bigger than yourself. To be able to play in the band in a meaningful way, the opportunity was priceless!”
