Saturday, June 27


Noon–1 pm EDT

Encore broadcast of an episode of “My Highway Home” with Joe Jencks

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Joe Jencks visits with Andy Spence, co-founder of Old Songs. Andy tells the story of Old Songs and shares wonderful memories of the fest. Joe and Andy share memories of Andy’s husband, the late Bill Spence who helped spawn a dulcimer revival in the 1970s and was a pivotal influence on Old Songs.


1–7 pm EDT

Celebrating 40 Years of Old Songs! (part 1)

Recordings of performances given through the years at Old Songs! Many of these archival recordings have not been heard since the day they took place!

We will hear full sets from artists like:

  • Christine Lavin
  • John McCutcheon
  • Georgia Sea Island Singers

Plus highlights from various workshops and MainStage concerts from artists including:

  • Utah Phillips

Sunday, June 28

Sacred Harp Sing led by Peter Amidon (from 1995)

Always a highlight of Old Songs, and an example of the great participatory events that take place, we will broadcast a Sacred Harp sing that was held in 1995. We will also chat with Peter Amidon who led the sings for many years, a tradition that continues in recent years with his son Stefan Amidon taking over the role as leader.
